Sandy Claim

Well hello there blog readers, my name is Tiffany and i'm doing this blog entry to thoroughly support my claim as to why i think that New York could have been ready for super storm Sandy, if only they had enough preparation for any kind of disaster such as the hurricane. The city's response was not as adequate as it should have been due to the fact that many lost their houses and everything that they owned. Yes the city was able to clean up the mess in a timely matter however they didn't supply too much help for those who were left homeless. The people weren't funded and those who couldn't find a place to stay after their six months in a hotel paid for by the government had expired, they were the ones who were screwed.

Super storm Sandy had an "international support" system after it had occurred. Many foundations were raising money for the cause and even celebs were contributing as well. This reminds me of a passage that I had read in Naomi Klein's The Shock Doctrine, Blanking the Beach. In the passage the tsunami that occurred in Sri Lanka was basically funded by international support (70). In the donations a total of $13 billion was raised.
